The lush hills of Ampitiya, Kandy

Our Story

A Home in the
Hills of Kandy

Kandy 888 Villas began with a simple idea — to share the quiet beauty of Ampitiya with travellers who seek something more personal than a hotel.

Who We Are

Built with Love,
Rooted in Kandy

Kandy 888 Villas is a family-run retreat nestled in the quiet neighbourhood of Palliyakanda, Ampitiya — just minutes from the heart of Kandy yet a world away from its bustle. The villa sits on a hillside surrounded by tea gardens, tropical trees, and the sounds of birds that wake you each morning.

We opened our doors with four carefully designed rooms, each with its own character and view. Our aim has always been the same: to offer guests not just a place to sleep, but a genuine experience of life in the Kandy hills — the food, the landscape, the warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality.

Whether you are here for a honeymoon, a family holiday, or a quiet retreat from the world, we will do everything we can to make your stay feel like coming home.

What Guides Us

The Spirit of the Villa

Genuine Hospitality

We welcome every guest as a friend. From the moment you arrive, our home is yours — warm, unhurried, and personal.

Rooted in Nature

The villa is designed to live with the landscape, not against it. Every room opens to greenery, birdsong, and the rhythm of the hills.

Thoughtful Details

Fresh flowers on arrival, a breakfast made from local produce, a tour arranged just for you — the small things that make a stay unforgettable.

Deeply Local

We know Kandy intimately. We share our favourite tea estates, hidden temples, local markets, and the trails most visitors never find.

Where We Are

Ampitiya, Kandy —
The Cultural Heart of Sri Lanka

Kandy is one of Sri Lanka's most beloved cities — a UNESCO World Heritage site ringed by misty hills, tea estates, and ancient temples. Ampitiya sits just above the city, quieter and greener, with views that stretch across the valley on clear mornings.

From the villa you can walk to working tea fields, drive to the Temple of the Tooth in under ten minutes, or simply sit on your terrace and watch the mist roll in over the hills. It is a place that rewards those who slow down.
